HR adviser calls for PLC members to resign
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Human Rights advisor, Kamal Sharafi, has called on Palestinian lawmakers to agree to hold legislative elections. According to Maan News, Sharafi argues that two thirds of the members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) should resign in preparation for legislative elections which could help the Palestinians move away from the unity crises.
Sharafi also supports the formation of a transitional Palestinian governement to prepare for legislative and presidential elections and a restructuring of the Palestinian security services.
