Haniyeh to expand de facto cabinet
The deposed prime minister Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza is set to expand the de facto cabinet by appointing new ministers to the positions left vacant after the collapse of the unity cabinet in June 2007. The new cabinet will be presented to the Palestinian Legislative Council, according to Maan News.

Abdullah Abdullah, the Fatah-affiliated chairperson of the political committee in the PLC criticizes the step and argues that it “maintains the idea of separating the Gaza Strip from the rest of the Palestinian territories.
