Fatah will not meet Hamas bilaterally
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction has rejected a request by Hamas rivals to meet separately, without the presence of the other 11 Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) factions, ahead of multi-factional reconciliation talks in Cairo in November. Hamas has warned that it will not recognize Mahmoud Abbas as president beyond 9 January 2009.
